For the November 8th, 2022 General Election, over 20 students came in two hour shifts throughout the day to help, from Onekama High School. These Juniors and Seniors were put to work learning the "ins and outs" of the process. They gained knowledge on how the process works. Onekama Township Clerk Shelli Johnson was welcomed into the class rooms and gave a presentation on Elections. They were also taught how our local government works. At the end of the presentation, students were able to sign up to help and enroll in training. These students took a class and were able to earn a certificate to become a certified student election inspectors, that will be valid for two years. They can now work any election until 2024. It was so fun to see them learn the process and help others. Thank you again students for helping with our election!
